Well Restoration Budget
Zipolite
Oaxaca, México
Material and labor costs for the restoration of HRIBANIKA’S well along with solar powered equipment to mobilize the complex with drinking and tap water. Budget composed by HRIBANIKA’s founder Angélica Tonalkiahuitl and myself. This outline is an educated approximation of materials and labor; solar equipment providers and raw materials vendors, etc. are subject to change as crytpo solutions are currently pursued with high priority.
PHASE 1: WELL REINFORCEMENT
12 concrete rings are required to reinforce the circumference of the existing concrete well at depth, which requires rental of a mold:
Mold Rental = $800 per day
Producing 1 mold per day x 12 days of renting
MOLD RENTAL TOTAL = $9,600 MXN / $483 USD
The cost of labor to create the new reinforcing rings = $1,500 per day x 12 days:
TOTAL CONCRETE RING PRODUCTION LABOR = $18,000 MXN / $906 USD
The cost of labor to install the 12 rings inside the well = $3,500 per 1 per ring:
TOTAL CONCRETE RING INSTALLATION = $42,000 MXN / $2,112 USD
To create the concrete rings — an average of 1 ton of cement, 1 truckload of gravel and 1 truckload of sand is needed:
1 ton of cement = $4,200
1 truckload of gravel dump = $3,200
1 truckload of sand = $2,200
MATERIALS TOTAL = $9,600 MXN / $483 USD
The cost to haul the materials to HRIBANIKA from the materials site = $500 per person; it takes 3 people to haul these quantities in one work week
Hauling Cost = $1,500 per day x 6 days
TOTAL HAULING COSTS = $9,000 MXN / $475 USD
PHASE 2: DIG PRODUCTION
To de-silt the well and reach the water table, an estimate of 8 meters further depth must be achieved:
Dig Labor Team = $3,500 per square meter x 8 meters
TOTAL DIG LABOR = $28,000 MXN / $1,500 USD
PHASE 3: SOLAR POWERED PUMP + MATERIALS
Small Fixtures + Miscellaneous Hardware = $2,000 MXN
TOTAL SOLAR POWER + APPLIANCE COSTS = $58,726 MXN / $3,125 USD
BUDGET TOTAL: $174,962 MXN = $9,300 USD
